Boulder Dash

Though it looks like a simple arcade action game at a glance, there are many puzzle elements found within Boulder Dash. If you act carelessly, you can easily find yourself squished under or even trapped behind fallen boulders. You get to choose where to dig next so always consider your surroundings. Your goal is to collect a minimum amount of gems in each area to open up a door that will lead back to the world map. Falling boulders will be the least of your concerns when you are up against fast moving subterranean enemies. Though you can't fight them directly, smart digging can be used to send a falling boulder right onto their heads.

As an early arcade game, Boulder Dash isn't very complex but it does offer simple and well constructed action gameplay across 24 increasingly difficult stages.
